ARPPAS has tremendous potential utility in any industry moving towards high strength composite materials. Over the past several decades, commercially sold automobiles have been increasingly designed with high strength composite materials. In addition, cutting edge performance automobiles and race cars are moving in the direction of a new generation high strength composite materials. Both the more established and newly-designed composite parts suffer from the same residual strain and stress problem as those used in aircraft.
As a result, ARPPAS could help mitigate the risk of composite part failure, saving manufacturers and designers both time and money and increasing the reliability of these high cost/high performance vehicles.
